success story of Saravana

I am Saravana a native of M.V. Garden of Ulsoor slum in Bangalore. I was engaged as an auto driver of healthy man. I get a meager income after paying rent to the owner of the auto. My family consists of my wife, one daughter and twin boys. I was unable to provide sufficient food, clothing and even to have house as my own for my dear ones. The children were suffering due to lack of food and becoming feeble and weak day by day. You can guess a fathers sorrow at this condition. My wife joined the Self Help Group of FIDES started by our beloved sr. Nancy in 1994. The sisters knowing my difficulties provided my children food items rich in protein and vitamins for their growth. Not only these helps but gave us a loan of Rs.2000 to start the income generation programme. One child received sponsorship for their education from the sisters. We started the sale of Chicken Kabab. My wife started to save Rs.5 per week thereby we were able to refund the amount within six month. Slowly we opened a mobile repair shop. Now we are able to earn Rs.700perday. I send my 3 children to English medium paying fees. I have my own house now.

All these well being is gratefully acknowledged to the kind assistance by the sisters and FIDES staff. We live a peaceful and happy life now. In my family there is lot of mutual understanding and consideration for all things. As we do plan and execute together. I who was a hot tempered person was able to change my behavior with patients and love. I have received all these blessings through the instrumentality of FIDES. I have to mention the change in my life style is by attending the men’s meeting. I am grateful to God and willingly give my voluntary help to sisters and staff of FIDES. I am able to be of assistance to those brothers and sisters in difficulties and troubles. “Great are the gift and working of FIDES and the molding of my life”.Back
