NCP MELA. Back
1st December, 2012 was a memorable day in the annals of FIDES (Family Integral Development Education Scheme) as the first NCP MELA was conducted at our Centre in Bandapura village, Bangalore-49.
104 NCP children from Kaveri Nagar, with their animators and staff participated in the NCP Mela. The purpose of the mela was to provide an opportunity to NCP children to come together and share their group experiences and for mutual learning. This occasion helped them to enrich themselves and refresh their knowledge on NCP especially the role of leaders and members. It was a day of celebration. Sr. Alice Chacko - our Vice Provincial, Sr. Anna T. – CDEW Director, Mr. Shiva Ram – Director of Shakthi Kendra were the main invitees for this day. The programme began with prayer dance invoking God’s blessings.
Each NCP group performed one item. The various N.C.P groups presented their annual reports in a creative way mentioning their achievements.
Sr. Anna T. exhorted the children on the need of right choices in life and planning for their future. She highlighted the role of NCP, in children’s life and how it should help the child to open their eyes to the social realities around. Mr. Shiva Ram appreciated our presence in Kaverinagar and told that the face of Kaverinagar has changed through your intervention. What big people could not do, the NCP children were able to achieve, in stopping the wine shop. Sr. Alice Chacko highlighted on the various dangers that surround the children today and how they should safeguard from it through a demonstration.
Mr. Sinu Mathew, staff of CDEW explained about the history and origin of NCP. Inspiration behind it is taken from the words of Dr. Rajendra Prasad our first President “Destiny of India lies in the Class room of today”.
Mr. Praveen staff of CDEW told the children how to develop their personality, imbibe good values in life and cultivate social concerns through N.C.P The presence of many sisters added encouragement to the NCP children.
