NEWS & EVENTS
"Embracing Tradition: Pongal Celebration and Ethnic Day"
Date: 22nd January 2024
Place: FIDES
On January 13, 2024, FIDES had the privilege of hosting Mr. Daniel Knable, a generous
benefactor (representative) from Don Bosco Mondo, who travelled all the way from Germany.
We are grateful to Don Bosco Mondo who financially supported the FIDES building. Mr. Daniel
Knable, came to oversee the building and the activities carried out in this building. The event
was attended by key figures including Benefactor Mr. Daniel, CDEW Society Director Sr. Rosy,
Sr. Superior Sherly Joseph, Sr. Sumi, FIDES Director, Sr. Philo, Sr. Mary Rani, along with
FIDES staff, self-help groups (SHGs) from various villages, migrant children under FIDES,
tailoring students, and vocational training students.
The day commenced with a cultural program, expertly hosted by Ms. Varsha, Tally trainer, and
Ms. Vandana, FIDES Accountant. The program featured a warm welcome speech, a captivating
Prayer Dance by the staff, and the honour of facilitating Mr. Daniel with garlands, shawls, plants,
and a token of gratitude.
The event showcased the talents of migrant children through a mime, a mesmerizing solo dance
by youth Ms. Shruthy, and insightful experience sharing by Quest Student Ms. Priyanka, Tech
Student Ms. Shakunthala, and SHGs lady Mrs. Seethamma. A memorable photo session captured
moments shared between Mr. Daniel, participants, and the dedicated FIDES staff.
Post-program, Mr. Daniel embarked on a tour of the FIDES Building, engaging in meaningful
interactions with students within the classrooms. The day served as a testament to the impactful
collaboration between Don Bosco Mondo and FIDES in fostering education and empowerment.
