General Body meeting of Jeeva Jyothi women multipurpose co-operative Society
The shareholders of Jeeva Jyothi Women multipurpose co-operative Society had a general body meeting at the FIDES building in Kaverinagar on October 10, 2021, with 42 women in attendance and the shareholders meeting. The assembly began with an invocation to God and the singing of a song to the Holy Spirit.

Mrs. Samuel, the society's secretary, read the audited statement, which comprised income, costs, and outstanding loans, and also discussed the present financial condition. Because of Covid-19, no suitable meetings were held, and the money was not repaid. Moreover, they had no savings.

Mr. Samuel described his experiences with certain individuals who seek loans in groups, and some request loans that are larger than their ability to repay, and they are unable to repay but still demand a large amount of loan to sanction, causing conflict in groups and making smooth operation difficult. And some of the groups are not successful in running the groups and it is leading to the end of collapsing the group’s activity. He also asked for suggestions for the society to improve the groups.

Sr Sumi discussed the criteria for lending and borrowing and asked the members how much loan would be sanctioned. Mr. Samuel stated that, while fixed deposits in other banks pay lower interest rates, doing so in our bank pays a better rate of return, as do gold loans, and safety deposit boxes are all accessible in our bank with larger facilities than in other banks. Then later Mr. Benedict was introduced by Sr. Sumi after the debate of the debt payback. Mr. Benedict lectured about environmental sustainability in a light hearted and entertaining manner. He made everyone in the group play a game. The meeting ended up with issuing snacks to group members.
