NEWS & EVENTS

BALA MELA 2023

On 3rd December 2023, an enriching event unfolded as migrant children from four tuition centres under the care of FIDES participated in the Bala Mela 2023. This collaborative effort included key partners such as ASHIRVAD, Marginalised Centre for Social Concern, Dotdash Meredith, CARE, and FIDE EL LABORE.

The day kicked off at 8:30 a.m. with a warm welcome through the registration process, followed by a nutritious breakfast. The event continued with inauguration, engaging games, snacks, lunch, a captivating magic show, cultural performances, a valedictory session, gift distribution, and a heartfelt departure.

The success of Bala Mela 2023 was made possible through the collective efforts of Departments of St Joseph College of Commerce, St Joseph's College of Law, and St Joseph's Boys' High School. Their collaboration extended to organizing the cultural program and volunteering for the game stalls, adding depth and diversity to the event.

Approximately 97 students from FIDES Trust actively participated in the event. The FIDES team, led by Sr. Sumi Joseph and Sr. Bincy, included seven dedicated individuals: Mrs. Lania, Ms. Charmak Bagang, Ms. Vandana M, Ms. Shreeja, Mr. Benedict Roy, Mr. Henry Johnson, and Mr. Bal Praveen.

The Bala Mela 2023 stands as a shining example of community collaboration and commitment to the well-being of migrant children. The diverse range of activities, cultural exchange, and the generous involvement of volunteers created a memorable experience for all involved. This event not only provided moments of joy and learning but also fostered a sense of community and of belonging among the participants.
